Why Printed T-Shirts Need Special Care
A printed design sits on top of the fabric, not woven into it—so it reacts differently to heat, friction and detergent than the plain fabric around it. Unlike the dyed fabric of the garment itself, ink, vinyl and DTF film sit on the surface of the shirt. That’s what makes them vulnerable to things that don’t bother the rest of the fabric—high heat, direct friction, and harsh chemicals can all cause a print to crack, peel or fade well before the shirt itself wears out.

Washing Instructions
- Turn it inside-out before washing—this protects the print from direct friction against other items in the load.
- Use cold water. Hot water breaks down the ink bond and speeds up cracking or fading.
- Choose a gentle or normal cycle, and avoid washing with heavy items like jeans or towels that can rub against the design.
- Skip the bleach. Bleach and other harsh whitening agents will discolour or damage the print.
- Go easy on fabric softener. It can build up on the print surface over time and make it feel stiff or start to peel.
Drying & Ironing
- Air drying is best. It’s the gentlest option and adds no extra heat stress to the print.
- If you tumble dry, use low heat and take the garment out promptly—prolonged high heat is one of the fastest ways to crack a print.
- Iron inside-out on a low setting if you need to, and never run the iron directly over the printed design. A pressing cloth between the iron and the print adds extra protection.
- Never dry clean unless the garment is specifically labelled for it—dry cleaning solvents can strip certain print types.
